Miura Peninsula.

Here are some shots from a trip to Miura Peninsula south of Tokyo with the Nikkei camera club. We visited a beach where there were some crazy rocks.

(Very dorky pun in Japanese. Never mind.)

The rocks on the beach were a gas. Look at them long enough and you can see faces, like spirits frozen in stone.

Fat oni.

Fossilized orangutan.

Laughing ghosts

This cave is actually on its side.

Natural Zen rock garden.

There were tons of hawks:

This guy kept looking at me. I felt like a delicious morsel. On the hoof.

Here he is closer up. Scary.

And other birds:

Gutter snipe

Parking finch

There was other wildlife too:

We stopped at a fish market for lunch. They were having a sale on tentacles。

We found some feral aloe. Or something.

Pretty flower, dead.

Here's some shots of club members:

ZhangYing

Endo-san

Chris

The cat people were hounded by papparazzi

We found a huge pile of daikon. Everybody grabbed a bunch. Some guy said it was ok.

Doin' the daikon dance

This pretty little shrine was hidden in the bushes just off the beach.
